RMAN Backup On Remote Machine Disk On Windows

Objective

How to take backups on shared disk of another machine on windows machine..

Steps are following

Follow the below steps to take backups on remote disk :

+ Suppose I have a target database on Machine A and the remote folder is on Machine B
+ I use the user “testuser” to log into Machine A
+ User “testuser” is member of groups “Administrator” and “ora_dba”
+ I want to take backups on “D:\Backup” location of Machine B
+ On Machine B, I’ll create a user “testuser” with the same password as of user “testuser” on Machine A
+ Make the user “testuser” of Machine B member of groups “Administrator” and “ora_dba”
+ On Machine B, I’ll share the folder “D:\Backup” and give FULL CONTROL to user “Machine B\testuser”
+ On Machine A, I’ll modify the OracleService (Services.msc -> OracleService -> RightClick -> Properties -> “Log On” tab -> “This account”) and specify the account “testuser” and it’s password
+ Restart the OracleService
+ Now take backup from rman as:

run
 {
 allocate channel ch1 type disk format '\\Machine B\backup\%U';
 backup database;
 }
