disabled – 11:28:26 – svc:/system/rds:default

Enabled the rds
root@exadb01:~# svcadm enable intrd
root@exadb01:~# svcs -av |grep intrd
online – 11:33:33 – svc:/system/intrd:default

Reboot the server
root@exadb01:~# reboot

root@exadb01:~# svcs -av |grep rds
disabled – 11:35:31 – svc:/system/rds:default

On reboot the rds was disabled by default.

Tried to enable the rds and start the crs , but it does not help
root@exadb01:~# svcs -av |grep intrd
disabled – 11:35:31 – svc:/system/intrd:default
root@exadb01:~# svcadm enable rds
root@exadb01:~# svcs -av |grep rds
online – 11:44:33 – svc:/system/rds:default
root@exadb01:~#
root@exadb01:/u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/bin# ./crsctl check crs
CRS-4638: Oracle High Availability Services is online
CRS-4535: Cannot communicate with Cluster Ready Services
CRS-4530: Communications failure contacting Cluster Synchronization Services daemon
CRS-4534: Cannot communicate with Event Manager
root@exadb01:/u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/bin#

Solution

Disable the crs and once the reboot enable the rds and start the crs manually worked fine.

root@exadb01:/u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/bin# ./crsctl disable crs

reboot

root@exadb01:~# svcadm enable rds
root@exadb01:~# svcs -av |grep rds
online – 23:29:43 – svc:/system/rds:default

root@exadb01:/u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/bin# ./crsctl start crs

root@exadb01:/u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/bin# ./crsctl check crs
CRS-4638: Oracle High Availability Services is online
CRS-4537: Cluster Ready Services is online
CRS-4529: Cluster Synchronization Services is online
CRS-4533: Event Manager is online
root@exadb01:/u01/app/11.2.0.3/grid/bin#

Finished

Nice post. I know many Exadata users and went to several Exadata specific conferences. You are the first one I know really using Solaris on Exadata.
